I am a scriptwriter for film, television and theatre, creating comedy dramas in sign language inspired by my background – I’m hard of hearing and grew up in a deaf family.

In the ‘Films’ section find out about the upcoming mini series ‘The Fingerspellers’, and last year’s UK Film Council funded mockumentary ‘‘Hands Solo,’ featuring a deaf man with an amazing talent at his fingertips..! You can also see (in full) the Community Channel’s 30 minute drama ‘Departure Lounge,’ about two deaf men in hospital, who discuss what a ‘deaf heaven’ would be like. If that’s not enough, go back in time to 2007 (!) and revisit the You Tube hits ‘Coming Out’ and Four Deaf Yorkshiremen!

In the ‘Articles’ section you’ll find two years worth of columns on deaf life for the BBC’s disability website Ouch! – from the trauma of a dog eating my hearing aids to the phenomenon of Sign Names and the mistakes in live subtitling.
